"Once I was permitted to see just one day's killing by abortion and that was something that shook me up. Maybe, because I didn't pay too much attention to abortion before and even the word 'abortion' didn't have enough meaning to me other than it was something that should not be done. I didn't take any more serious notice of it than that.
"Then, I was shown thousands and thousands of little babies. They were all little, beautiful babies and they were curled up in little cocoon positions, which obviously was the womb. Some of them were bigger than others. Some were ready for birth. I could see their heads, bodies, legs and arms. I could see them moving their hands, their heads and their legs and I could just see them twitch. It grieved my heart so much because this wasn't something undeveloped. And this I found painful. I couldn't believe any real mother would do something like this. Or that a doctor would do something like this.
"Again, it made me realize it was the work of Satan. To save them, the Blessed Mother asked me to offer up the Holy Contents of the Mass, to pray the Holy Rosary to her Immaculate Heart and pray the Prayer of Baptism. 'And that way,' said the Queen of Peace, 'I will be able to take each one of my little babies into the safety of myImmaculate Heart.'
"So, I prayed. I didn't know what was going to happen - if the babies' parents or the women involved would change their minds about abortion. I honestly didn't know what was going to happen until the next day.
"On the next day, I was going through the most unbelievable suffering. How do I describe this suffering? If you had two children and if you were to see those two children dying, how would you feel? That's how I felt. A deep sorrow and helplessness. It caused such an anguish in my heart and mind. I just couldn't stop crying. My back was burning from what felt like lashes.
"To this day, whenever I hear a girl is pregnant, I think a woman should be there to protect the girl and the baby. People need to help others see the reality that only from God's gift of life, can a man and woman create the flesh of a child. Only God can give the soul to the child. I felt love for those little babies as well as for their mothers and yet a helplessness. After this revelation, abortion took on a totally new image - a new meaning for me. That word 'abortion' now tears my heart apart."
To enhance the meaning of what she was shown. Our Lady explained, in no uncertain terms, what Heaven considers abortion to be: "My child, my heart weeps blood for the abomination, killing of the unborn - murder, murder. What punishment it will draw down on my children." Christina says, "There is more to all of this than meets the eye. For myself, it always brings me back to the time of Jesus when the people shouted 'Crucify Him. Crucify Him.' Yet, he was innocent. And in the same way, the little babies in the wombs of their mothers, are also the innocent victims.
"Yet again, through compulsion or situation or whatever, our world today claims a woman has a right over 'her' body. Yet in that act of lust in which she takes part, and through which the baby is conceived, even though the baby is not herself: it is distinctly new life - that woman claims she can crucify it. She says, 'I have the right.' No, God gives man and woman the gift to create life but only God has the right to take it away."
Christina stresses the Blessed Mother's request for prayer for mothers who may terminate the life of their unborn baby. Many mothers who have had abortions may not be practicing within the Church, and through guilt and suppressed fear of dwelling on what they have done, may not even permit themselves to desire baptism for their aborted babies.
The fact that Our Lady calls it a "prayer" clearly indicates that she does not intend, as indeed the Church would never countenance, a remote use of the sacrament of Baptism but an intense plea so that any aborted babies whose parents are unrepentant and linked with evil and who do not desire salvation for their aborted children may not be held bound in any way. Through the communion of saints we try to express the "baptism of desire" on their behalf by such a prayer. A possible prayer suggested by Christina Gallagher's Spiritual Director, Fr. Gerard McGinnity follows:
ALL OF YOU WHO ARE BORN DEAD, AND ARE STILL TO BE BORN DEAD, BY DAY AND AT NIGHT, ALL OF YOU, WHO ARE KILLED IN THE WOMB OFYOUR MOTHER, AND ARE STILL TO BE KILLED, SO THAT ALL OF YOU WILL BE GIVEN ETERNAL LIFE BY OUR LORD, JESUS CHRIST, I BAPTIZE -(GIVE THE CHILD A BAPTISMAL NAME, GENERALLY THE NAME OF MARY, JOSEPH, JOHN OR THE NAME OF THE SAINT WHOSE FEAST HAPPENS TO FALL ON THE DAY) - IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, AND OF THE SON, AND OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.
AT THE END, PRAY THE LORD'S PRAYER AND A 'HAIL MARY' AND A 'GLORY BE TO THE FATHER . . .'
On September 26,1992, while in Scotland, Christina was given a special apparition which enlightened her regarding the powerful effect which can be achieved through our compliance with this message.
At Mass, during Holy Communion, Christina saw Jesus fallen with the crown of thorns on His Head and His Heart visible. Blood dripped from the wounds in His head and little babies could be seen entering His Sacred Heart. The Lord then asked the people to offer the contents of the Holy Sacrifice - Himself - in reparation for the sin of abortion. However, Christina adds, "The people must decide in their own free will to make reparation for all the sin in the world, especially the sin of abortion. We must be prepared to pay the consequences of our misuse of this gift of sexuality."
The flagrant abuse of human life in this particular crime of abortion surely accounts for Our Lady's remark to Christina in Her message on November 2, 1992, that so many are "in darkness and merry in murder and bloodshed:"
